Yet another week of construction and revitalization has passed us by in the improvements being made to downtown Marshalltown and as of now, all sidewalks along North Center St. are open. In a release from the Marshalltown Chamber of Commerce, they say that through this past week of construction, a major milestone was reached as crews completed the domestic water service installations along N. Center St. The upgrades made not only modernize the existing infrastructure, but also lay the groundwork for long-term water reliability in the area. As for what’s ahead for week 10, the Chamber says crews will begin planned water line stops to safely remove sections of the previous water main which will then be followed up by storm sewer removal which will prepare the area for upcoming underground utility upgrades. To stay up to date, you can always visit the chamber website at Marshalltown.org.
