Marshalltown Public Works Director, Heather Thomas, says there was a soft opening for the playground equipment at Riverview Park this past weekend and it was highly successful.  She says the focus now shifts to other parts at Riverview like the sports courts area.

Thomas says they have updated the basketball courts and will be adding lights to that area.  Her goal is to do a soft opening for the sports court area next weekend.  Mega 10 Park in Marshalltown also has construction going on, the Apgar Water Plaza is being built and dirt is moving.

The city is working hard this spring to make the updates at our local parks.  They will get a ton of use now that school is out for summer
