The Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force encompasses 9 different law enforcement agencies in Central Iowa that works together to fight drugs in our communities.  Marshalltown Detective Sargent Dane Bowermaster, shares his experience working on the Drug Task Force.

Detective Bowermaster says that many times drug cases will cover a large area and agencies will need to collaborate or share information to help solve a case. He says they also work with Criminal Defendants who are people who have been arrested working to get a lesser charge.

The 21 Jump Street saying, “infiltrate the dealers and find the suppliers” is a real saying.

The Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force relies on tips from the public as Detective Bowermaster says citizens know their neighborhoods better than Police does.  Tips can always be submitted to the Marshalltown non-emergency number, (641) 754-6392.  If no one answers, Detective Bowermaster asks people to leave a message.
