Last night the Marshalltown Bobcat softball team held a makeup doubleheader against Mason City at home. The first game, Mason City got out to a 3 – 0 lead but the Briley Danielson locked in after the first couple innings. Danielson goes the distance allowing 4 runs to cross the plate but punches out 10 batters. In the bottom of the 7th inning the Bobcats are down 4 – 3 and they load the bases for Sophomore Briley Danielson. Danielson hits a popup to the shortstop who fumbles the ball and two runs cross the plate getting the victory for herself and the team. The Bobcats win game one 5 – 4.
Game two was not as close as the Bobcats are able to score in the 2nd inning and never lose the lead winning game two 6 – 3. The Bobcats and Riverhawks will see each other again tonight as the Bobcats will travel north to Mason City for a doubleheader.
