The Marshalltown Police Department spends their days arresting bad people in our community, but they are going to take some time one day this month to focus on arresting hunger. Marshalltown Police Chief, Chris Jones, says they plan to hold a food drive, “Arresting Hunger”
Chief says they are looking for non-perishable food items for two reasons, one because all the food is going to the Salvation Army and Emergency food box, but also because especially with the heat, meats and frozen items will not last long in their squad car.
Chief Jones says they partnered with the local Rotary Club so volunteers from Rotary and Police Officers will be at both sites starting at 10am this Saturday.
