Last week Marshalltown saw nearly 5 inches of rain in less than an hour which cause roads across town to be flooded over.  Rick Legg, Marshalltown Street Superintendent, talks about what his team works on after heavy rains.

Legg says the storm on Friday, the roads flooded quickly and by the time many of the floods were reported people had already tried to drive through them.  He suggests to wait for the water to recede.

Legg says it should take about 30 or 45 minutes for the water to recede.  People can report these situations to the street department.

Legg and his team want to keep up with potholes and washed-out alleyways but they rely on citizens to report those issues as they cannot have eyes everywhere every day.
