The East Marshall Mustang Softball Team is headed back to the State Tournament up in Fort Dodge next week. The Trojans toppled Panorama 9-1, Ogden 5-1, and then top-five ranked Osage 3-2 in their regional to claim one of the eight spots in the Class 2A State Tournament. Following their run, East Marshall sits at 27-9 overall on the season and will need to continue their tremendous pitching as they’ll take on top seeded Van Meter in the first round of the tournament on Tuesday afternoon just after 12 o’clock noon. Van Meter sits at 31-2 on the year, only dropping games to Winterset 4-3 and to ADM 2-1. The Bulldogs have won 22 in a row and have not lost since June 6th. All State Softball games are played at the Harlan Rogers Complex in Fort Dodge.
