While August is still the heat of the summer, families are preparing for school to start later this month and people are looking ahead to their fall schedules. Jenni Hart, Recreation Supervisor with the City of Marshalltown says there is still an opportunity to get into a pool this fall.
She says registration is open for swim lessons already, people can head to marshalltownparkandrec.com. She says swimming lessons will only be through level 3 due to the depth of the Pleasant Hill pool. There is also a class for parents and their babies and toddlers.
Hart says they are also offering youth basketball this fall. Youth sign up individually and they are placed on a team.
She says it costs $35 for each youth to sign up for the full season.
Check out all of the fall opportunities online at Marshalltownparkandrec.com. People can also stop by the Park and Recreation office at 10 W State Street.
