The Marshalltown Fire Department handles emergencies around fire, but also water rescues, confined space rescue, rope rescue, and more. To have all of these skills ready, the team is constantly training in different scenarios.
That is Marshalltown Fire Chief Christopher Cross who says they are trained and ready to respond to majority of emergencies in Marshalltown. He talks about one of the specific training scenarios they work on in our community.
He says beyond the scenarios, his team is always thinking of how to solve problems in the community.
Chief Cross believes that if they train harder than the things they are expected to find in the real world it will keep them sharp and ready to handle anything in front of them.
