Marshall County Sheriffs Office has Phase 1 for updates planned out but the bids came in over budget and Phase 1 never started. The County Supervisors did allocate about $2 million from ARPA funds to updates at the Sheriffs Office.
That is Sheriff Joel Phillips says they had a meeting in January to develop a new plan for Phase 1. He said they needed to scale back Phase 1 as the bids came in about $1.5 million over budget.
He says there are over 70 windows in the building that need replaced. He says the new plan reduced the scope of work.
There were ten subcontractors at their pre-bid meeting last week and feels that the County will get competitive bids this time around.
