Update:

Yesterday, the Marshalltown Police Department responded to a report of a roll-over accident on Highway 30 just west of S. 18th Ave. A slow moving truck was pulling a gravity wagon along highway 30 heading eastbound.  A pickup truck traveling eastbound lost control of their vehicle when they tried to brake to slow down and avoid the truck pulling the wagon.  This caused the pickup truck to cross the median where it rolled and ended up in the westbound lanes.

The driver of the pickup truck was alone in their vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.  No other injuries were reported in the accident.  The accident happened around 1:24 in the afternoon and the westbound lanes were closed yesterday for an extended time.

The Marshalltown Police Department were assisted by the Marshalltown Fire Department, Marshall County Sheriffs Office, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa DOT, UnityPoint EMS, and the State Medical Examiners Office.  This is an ongoing investigation
