As of Wednesday, August 20th, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.89 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices dropped 3 cents from last week’s price and are down 31 cents from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.13, down 3 cents from last week’s price but still 24 cents higher than the average price in Iowa
Retail diesel prices in Iowa dropped 5 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.51. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.52 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 19 cents lower than the national average of $3.70.
Natural gas prices were down 6 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.76 MMbtu.
