Throughout the Streetscape project in downtown Marshalltown, people in the community knew there would be bricks underneath the old asphalt.  Public Works Director Heather Thomas says, those bricks were dug up and some will be reused for a project.  The bricks were found at the intersection of Main and Center St.

The painting station will be at the September 8th ribbon cutting and celebration starting at 4:30. Thomas says they were able to get a few community groups to have youth paint a few bricks ahead of time.

She says they will be on display for the September 8th Ribbon Cutting

She is inviting families to come out on the 8th to find the brick their child may have painted.
