Marshall County Emergency Management Coordinator, Kim Elder, is out in Washington DC at a National Homeland Security Conference.  She says it is a great time to talk with other small counties, learn about how big communities handle emergencies, and share different success stories.

Elder says a common question discussed is how do we use what resources we have even better.  She says its about sharing ideas and keeping people safe.

At the Homeland Security Conference, Elder says Police, Fire, EMS, Public Health and more all coming together to learn from one another to keep communities safer.
