Labor Day is the unofficial end of Summer for many people, college football has started, kids are back in school, and the leaves will slowly begin changing colors.  Forester with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Joe Herring says the fall colors are already starting to show but will pick up as the month continues on.

He says with the changing color of the leaves that means their maintenance has to change a bit for the fall invasive species. He says his team is looking for the Bush Honeysuckle.

He said the old standard method dealing with the bush is cutting them down and treating the stump.  Over time, they have learned a neat trick to deal with the Honeysuckles, they wait until late October, early November.

He says it is easy to identify the Honeysuckle as they will be green and green plants that late in the year are not a good actor.
