As of Wednesday, September 3rd, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.84 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices fell 4 cents from last week’s price and are down 25 cents from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.23, up 2 cents from last week’s price but still 39 cents higher than the average price in Iowa.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 2 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.51. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.44 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 19 cents lower than the national average of $3.70.
Natural gas prices were up 18 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $3.07 MMbtu.
