Last night was the Pat Apgar Volleyball Tournament at the Marshalltown Roundhouse. The Bobcats did not get a victory but will have a few takeaways from the games played. The Bobcats first played Solon and lost in a sweep but in game 2 the Bobcats took Waverly-Shell rock to three sets. The girls are off over the weekend but will travel to take on Ames on Tuesday next week.
The Bobcat girls tennis team faced their highway 30 rival, the Ames Little Cyclones, yesterday at home for Senior Night. It was all Little Cyclones yesterday as they roll over the Bobcats 10 – 1. The Bobcats are now 7-6 on the season and 4-3 in the Iowa Alliance Conference. The girls will hit the court next on Tuesday next week when they travel down to Des Moines Lincoln.
Last night the Bobcat Boys Cross Country team ran at the Iowa State University course. The top 2 finishers were Bobcats one with a Personal Record. In 2nd place was Carter Nunn who broke the 16 minute mark by running a 15:32 and winner of the race was Preston Johnson. Johnson broke the 15 minute mark and set a new course and meet record by running a 14:55. A 5k is just over 3.1 miles so that means Johnson’s mile pace was 4:49. The boys will run again on Thursday next week at the Bobcat Invite.
