Football has begun, it is still a Cyclone state, the leaves are changing colors it may be time to check that emergency car kit and make sure it is ready for winter driving. Kim Elder, Marshall County Emergency Management Coordinator, shares a few items people should always have in their emergency car kit.
Believe it or not, there are places that do not get great cell service and a paper map may be your only way to find a route back home. With weather getting colder, a blanket is good to have along with some food and water. Beyond a kit, Elder says it is important to have a few skills.
Elder says it is important to notify someone that you are traveling that way if something happens, there is a person who has an idea of where you could be located.
