Coming this Saturday is the inaugural fishing festival at Marshalltown Community College. The fish need to go because the pond will be drained and dredged after the cross-country season.
That is MCC Provost, Matt Schmit, who says they will restock fish into the pond when the time comes.
It all kicks off at 7:30 Saturday morning and will go until 1pm. People are encouraged to register online ahead of time, head to mcc.iavalley.edu. People can keep the fish they catch or donate them to a wildlife rehabilitation group.
