With all of the success Marshalltown Community College has had in their Esports Department in the first few years, they decided to open a Marshalltown Community College Esports Hall of Fame.
That is MCC Esports Head Coach, Nathan Rodemeyer, who says they created space in their Esports area to start the Hall of Fame. Iowa Valley Esports Director, Andrew Goforth, is ecstatic on how far this program has come in just a few short years. He says they had to create some strict criteria for Hall of Fame members due to all of their success. The first class has 11 members.
Goforth says Hall of Fame members need to have finished their studies at MCC, a champion of an individual’s title, a captain of a winning team, or a multi-time champion player. Coach Rodemeyer says the Hall of Fame will motivate players to work hard to get their name and picture on the wall.
The Tigers Esports season starts this month and Rodemeyer is encouraging people to follow along.
Goforth recently was promoted to the Esports Director and is working to get the Esports program going at Ellsworth Community College and he says the buzz of the Hall of Fame has created more buzz on the Iowa Falls Campus.
