3pm Update

The Marshall County Board of Supervisors met yesterday and one of the first topics was an update about Legionella from Marshall County Public Health Director Sydney Grewell.  Supervisor Jaret Heil asked Grewell why there was a change in recommendation to hold Oktemberfest in downtown Marshalltown.

With only 5 new cases in the last week it appears the case count is slowing.  Heil asked if that was normal and what we should expect with case count.

Grewell predicts with continued remediation processes happening the case count should slowly come to an end.  She says people can wear masks to the festival this weekend but reminds people that Legionnaire’s Disease does not transmit person to person.

As of the 3pm update yesterday there are 73 cases in Marshall County, a jump of 2 cases from yesterday and 5 from last Wednesday. You can watch the meeting back here
