The Marshalltown Bobcats came into Friday night’s date with Cedar Rapids Kennedy looking for their first 4-1 start since 2019, but the Cougars had other ideas as they went right down the field to take a 7-0 lead on a statement drive. The Cats found some offense of their own, while mostly assisted by a plethora of Cougar penalties, but an ill-advised throw into double coverage was intercepted in the end zone, and Cedar Rapids Kennedy would never look back. The lead ballooned up to 35-0 at the half, resulting in a continuous clock in the 2nd half and the Cougars would run the clock out taking the 49-0 blowout win. The Cats’ second half the season doesn’t get any easier as they’ll travel to take on Waukee next Friday Night.
