The Marshall County Sheriffs Office has partnered with CAPS, Child Adolescent and Parent Support, and the Marshalltown Police Department to put on a program at Karl of Marshalltown. Sheriff Joel Phillips joined the KFJB line yesterday to have people save the date.
The sheriff says the child being present makes sure that they are fitted correctly in the seat. He says this event is free and open to any family who lives in Hardin and Marshall County on Saturday, October 4th. Sheriff Phillips also shares that his department will be celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
Sheriff Phillips says this month is aimed to promote screenings to reduce the risk of the disease. He hopes the pink patches are a good conversation starter and helps bring awareness to early screening.
