Heart of Iowa Big Brothers Big Sisters has a school based program in Marshalltown, BCLUW, and West Marshall Schools.  At the beginning of each school year they receive a ton of applications to be littles and join the program.

That is Executive Director for Heart of Iowa Big Brothers Big Sisters, Brookelyn Schlawin.  She says the bigs are a mentor for the littles and can make a big impact on a little’s life.

Schlawin says they are looking for more bigs for their school based program.  This can look a variety of ways.

Schlawin says everyone needs to get lunch, retired or working, so this is a great way to give back and have lunch with a new friend.  People can sign up to be a big by heading to their website, heartofiowabigs.org, or by reaching out to Schlawin and her team.
