Driving by Franklin Field, it now looks like a football field and the track is beginning to take shape.  This project is part of the Miller Middle School Bond that was approved last November.  Dr. Theron Schutte, Marshalltown Community School District Superintendent, gave an update yesterday on the progress.

He says they are at a point in the project where weather will not impede on the progress.  Students will get to use the field for recess before the field is open to the public in the spring.  The major part of the Bond is Miller Middle school, and Dr. Schutte says they are still in the planning stages.

He says they are about 50-60% done with the design and development phase for the middle school.

Once construction starts this project will take multiple school years to finish.  The hope is for construction to start in the 2nd half of 2026.
