The City of Marshalltown received a grant from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to plant 18 fruit trees in different parks.  Kristin Titus, Marshalltown Park Supervisor shares where the trees were planted just a few weeks ago.

Titus says they also planted some Pear Trees.  She says they got a surprise from the place they ordered the trees.

The City is not sure where the next 14 trees are going to go.  Fruit Trees can be tricky to place.

Once those trees begin producing fruit, people can harvest them, although Titus says that will be a couple years still.
