School has been in session for almost 2 months for both public K-12 students and college students. Iowa Valley President, Dr. Anne Howsare-Boyans, joined the KFJB line in August and they projected enrollment to pass last year. She stopped by last week to confirm, enrollment is up.
Some Community Colleges across the state are seeing increases, but not quite the 10% increase Marshalltown Community College has. Dr. Howsare-Boyans is proud that MCC could add classes to make it all work this semester.
Dr. Howsare-Boyans attributes the increase in enrollment to the economy and affordability of Community College.
There are tons of students on the MCC Campus this semester, even the athletic teams are overflowing with students. As Provost Matt Schmit said in August, “These are good problems to have”
