Domestic Violence is a tough crime to investigate because it involves a close relationship and tons of emotions. Marshalltown Police Chief Chris Jones says there are multiple organizations the Police work with when investigating Domestic Violence.
Chief Jones reminds listeners that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. He says the Marshalltown Police Department first listens to survivors and then tries to help connect them to support.
According to national statistics, there are on average seven offenses of domestic violence before a report is made.
