Saturday, SNAP benefits did not come from the federal government for the first time since the permanent program started nationwide in the 1970s.  The Marshalltown Emergency Food Box announced on their Facebook page they are open for struggling families Monday – Thursday 1:30 – 4:30pm and Friday 10:30 – 1:30pm.  The Emergency Food Box will ask for all the people in your household and will ask a financial question.

If you are able to help … please consider donating any of the following: Canned vegetables and fruit, beans, pasta sauce, Mac n cheese, peanut butter, meal starters, soups, cereal, condiments, baking items, canned meats, or anything your family enjoys! The Food Box will accept food and cash donations at the back door starting at noon each day this week.
