Thank you for thinking of the residents at the Iowa Veterans Home. All donations received directly benefit the over 400 residents residing there. Many of the residents rely on the generosity from individuals, groups, and organizations to meet their needs. Your donation is greatly appreciated. 

How To Donate:
Please drop off all donations at the KFJB Studios at 123 W. Main Street in Marshalltown under the Christmas Tree.
Donations will be taken starting now through December 5th, 2025.


Resident Personal Care items

  • Men’s 3 in 1 Body Wash
  • Ladies boy wash set (any fragrance)
  • Body lotion
  • Electric razors
  • Hair Gel
  • Cologne and perfume (can not contain alcohol)
  • $10 Haircuts
  • Men’s & Women’s Deodorant

They do not accept partially used products or travel size items


BINGO Prizes (**no cash prizes please**)

  • Candy bars – full size & snack size
  • Individually wrapped snack items (“Little Debbie” snacks, chips, cookies)
  • Low calorie snacks – Baked chips
  • Sugar-free chocolate

Branch of Service clothing, blankets, hats & insulated mugs are residents favorite items.

Sponsor an ice cream social or special resident meal (example: pizza or steak).


 

NOT NEEDED AT THIS TIME: Afghans, Lap Quilts, Tooth brushes, Toothpaste, Shampoo, Conditioner, Playing Cards & Puzzles.


IN2L (It’s Never Too Late)

  • Purpose: this multifunction stand alone machine is used by residents to promote entertainment and challenge their cognitive functioning. There are games, music and video content delivered individually or as a group activity. They would like to request donations to help pay for yearly subscriptions. (Cost is $13K/year for 7 machines)

Television (Flat Screen) 32″:

  • Purpose: To provide a new, adequate sized, flat screen, digital, cable ready TV for each resident. They recommend Samsung model UN32N5300AFZA or LG model 32LF595B-UB brand TVs. No smart TVs please. They are unable to accept used TVs/electronics.

Monetary Donation to Special Activities Account:

  • Purpose: This account provides admission to outside recreational activities, as well such as special meals, prizes for bingo, entertainers, phone cards, resident garden boxes, resident bowling program & their Tuesday popcorn program.

General Memorial Fund:

  • Purpose: This fund supports a variety of campus wide updates. Purchases include: furniture for sitting areas, unit décor, new refrigerators, outdoor benches, trees & medical equipment.

Library Support:

  • Purpose: The IVH Library is a wonderful place for their residents to spend time reading, using the computers or checking out materials. They strive to have materials available that are interesting and current. Monetary donation designated for the library will be used to purchase new DVDs, Blu-rays or large print books for everyone to enjoy.

 


Ipad Support:

  • Purpose: Our goal is to enzure that all residents have the opportunity to use technology in each of the building dayrooms & activity centers. We are looking for monetary donation for support so that we may improve our resident’s ability to communicate
