As of Wednesday, December 10th, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.53 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices fell 12 cents from last week’s price and are down 17 cents from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $2.94, down 6 cents from last week’s price but still 39 cents higher than the average price in Iowa.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 11 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.50. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.26 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 18 cents lower than the national average of $3.68.
Natural gas prices were down 39 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $4.61 MMbtu.
