Last night was a special night at the Marshalltown School Board meeting as the school district recognized three Miller Middle School Coaches, Charlie Smith, Stan Wooster, and Lew Kearney.  Initially Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Theron Schutte, asked these three gentlemen to be the ribbon cutters for Franklin Field but the weather has pushed that back until the spring.

Middle School coaches are able to work with students at a time when they are very impressionable and that can make a lasting impact on students and athletes.

Four generations of Marshalltown students were shaped by the three coaches recognized last night.

The three coaches each received a Franklin Field print for their hard work and dedication to the students and athletes at Miller Middle School

Dr. Schutte said that Coaches Charlie Smith, Stan Wooster, and Lew Kearney will be the official ribbon cutters for Franklin Field when the track is finished in 2026.
