Marshall County Sheriff, Joel Phillips, is expecting more travelers on Iowa Roadways this holiday season than a typical day.  With additional drivers paired with lots of holiday celebrations, that can bring more impaired drivers on the roads.  Sheriff Phillips says 37% of traffic fatalities this year have been impaired related.

He says their focus is on drunk and impaired drivers.  When it comes to planning your day or night, remember to plan for a way to get home safely.

Sheriff Phillips then talks about people hosting a gathering

Traffic Deaths on Iowa Roadways are down this year; Iowa could end the year under 300 traffic deaths.  Sheriff Phillips feels the new hands-free law is one reason for the drop in traffic fatalities.
