Nebraska farmers continue to make significant planting progress for corn and soybeans as they had nearly a week suitable for fieldwork.
According to the latest crop progress report from the USDA, 42 percent of the corn was planted compared to 55 percent last year but 6 percent ahead of the five-year average. Two-percent of the crop has emerged.
Soybean planting is 20 percent complete, compared to 29 percent a year ago and ahead of the five-year average of 12 percent.
Winter wheat condition rated 42 percent good to excellent.
