Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of above-normal temperatures in southern Florida and much of California, the Great Basin, and an area stretching from the northern Rockies into the Midwest. Cooler-than-normal conditions will cover the Northeast and much of the South.
