Milk production for June and the second quarter continue to show increases.

USDA says production in the U.S. for the month totaled nearly 19 billion pounds, up nearly three percent, with production per cow up 26 pounds from last year.  

The herd size was up 153,000 head on the year and down 1,000 from last month. 

South Dakota production grew nearly 15 percent followed by Indiana, up more than eight percent.
