This is a prime time of the year to be wary of traffic hazards during the harvest season according to Marshall County Chief Deputy Steve Hoffman. He says be careful of large, slow moving farm implements during the balance of the harvest season between now and well into the month of October. In particular on secondary black top roads and on gravel where the roads can be narrower. Use caution when passing these vehicles and also be careful of visual problems on gravel where control of the vehicle can be lost, there can be trouble at the crest of hills and also at four way uncontrolled intersections, stop and look both ways he says. Also the rut which is the mating season for deer will also be coming around and herds of deer will also be on the move at dusk and dawn when their cover starts to disappear.
