A farmer in drought-stricken southwest Minnesota is harvesting soybeans that don’t look ready but are extremely dry.

Bob Worth farms in Lincoln County.

“We are combining soybeans (and) the stems are green, there’s still leaves on the plant, but they are anywhere from 10 and-a-half to 13 percent moisture.”

He tells Brownfield harvesting beans with green stems is a challenge.

“It takes power. You can’t go very long at night because the plant gets tough very quick.
