The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture says the ag industry needs a solution to the West Coast port disruptions.
US Trade Representative Katherine Tai says work is being done. “Discussions are taking place within the administration,” she says. “Including with the Federal Maritime Commission to determine a course of action to smooth out this discombobulation, if you will.”
During her address to NASDA members on Tuesday, she said the backlog at the ports have been caused in part by the recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.
