A farm business management instructor says it’s been a challenging year for Minnesota dairies.
Wayne Schoper is with South Central College in Mankato and suggests many farms have been hanging in there.
“On the plus side, we got a lot of good quality forages put up this year. There were concerns about hay supplies, alfalfa, some of the good forages, but I think overall we should be okay.”
He tells Brownfield while feed supplies are in pretty good shape, margins are extremely tight.
