The remnants of Hurricane Pamela will be absorbed by a cold front crossing the nation’s mid-section, leading to heavy rain and possible flash flooding in the south-central U.S. Through Thursday, event-total rainfall could reach 3 to 6 inches or more from central Texas into southeastern Oklahoma. Imbued with tropical moisture, the cold front will also be capable of producing heavy, late-week showers (locally 1 to 2 inches or more) from the mid-South into the Northeast.
