Dr. John Nilz has been named the new state veterinarian for Arkansas.
Nilz has served as a field veterinarian since July 2020 and in his new role will work closely with the livestock and poultry industries, licensed vets, and the public regarding animal health issues. Nilz will also serve as co-chair of the Arkansas One Health Committee. The purpose of the committee is to promote cohesion between agencies responsible for human, wildlife, and domestic animal health.
