One ag industry leader warns beginning farmers and others need to strategize how to shift in a new pandemic normal.
Mark Longstroth with Michigan State University tells Brownfield while growers might want to change their business models because of supply chain disruptions, labor, or other challenges brought on by the pandemic, doing so needs to keep profitability in mind.
“If you’re thinking about changing what you’re doing, you should probably spend at least a year thinking about all the positives and make sure you’ve got all the negatives and how you’ll handle those,” he says.
