The FDA says sales of antimicrobials used for food-producing animals continue to decline.
Sales dropped by three percent from 2019 to 2020 and are down nearly 40 percent from just five years ago.
About 40 percent of sales were for products intended for use in cattle, another 40 percent intended for use in swine, an estimated 12 percent intended for use in turkeys, and two percent intended for use in chickens.
