Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures in much of the northern and western U.S., while warmer-than-normal weather will prevail the southern half of the Rockies eastward to the middle and southern Atlantic States.
Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal weather on the southern High Plains and along the northern and southern sections of the Atlantic Coast.
