The USDA says November poultry production was 4.167 billion pounds, up 5% on the year. That included 3.703 billion pounds of chicken, also up 5%, and 453.249 million pounds of turkey, down 1%.

The chicken slaughter increased 4% to 758.159 million head, while turkey processing decreased 1% to 18.618 million head, and average live weights for most categories were unchanged to heavier.

For the year to date, U.S. poultry production is 46.932 billion pounds, slightly ahead of the 2020 pace.
