During the next 5 days, a pair of storms will traverse the country, trailed by cooler weather. The leading system will arrive in southern California early Friday, cross the central Plains on Saturday, and reach the upper Great Lakes region early Sunday. The initial storm will produce a broad swath of precipitation, with snow accumulations expected from the Sierra Nevada to the upper Great Lakes region. The second system will move inland early in the weekend across Oregon and northern California, before settling across the Great Basin.
