The start of planting season is rapidly approaching, and an Iowa-based agronomist says field conditions in his coverage area look good.
Channel’s Jeremy Miner says fields are actually a little ahead of where there were last year at this time. “We may be a little bit behind as far as guys being able to get into the field,” he says. “But we’re definitely accepting the moisture in what’s coming now.”
He tells Brownfield in areas where moisture is short, farmers should consider a seed treatment. “Just in case we run into those cases where it sits in the ground and we don’t warm up nearly as fast as we could,” he says.
