Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts has signed a bill allocating $60 million for a rural healthcare complex that would benefit farmers and ranchers.
University of Nebraska System President Ted Carter tells Brownfield the facility, located on the Kearney campus, will help bridge the rural healthcare gap. “What it will do is produce doctors, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and even mental health specialists for our rural counties of which, today, there 14 counties don’t have a primary care physician in Nebraska.
