Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of below-normal temperatures in the Northeast and west of the Rockies, while hotter-than-normal conditions will cover the Plains, Midwest, mid-South, and Southeast.
Meanwhile, near- or below-normal rainfall in the eastern half of the U.S. should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather across the northern High Plains and much of the West.
